Schaluppen sind kleine schnelle Schiffe, die gut in Luv segeln und sich in Küstennähe wagen können. Diese vorn und hinten getakelten Schiffe wurden unter Schmugglern und Küstenräubern bevorzugt.
Sloop: Sloops are small swift vessels which sail well to windward and can venture close to shore. These fore and aft rigged ships were preferred among smugglers and coastal raiders.
