The next lot of British are in ‘Saratoga uniforms’.All regiments in Burgoyne’s ill-fated expedition in 1777 were all ordered to cut down their coats and convert their hats into ‘light infantry style ‘ caps with horse hair crests.Officers tended to retain their cocked hats.
